Jesse Slides Down Jesse’s Face
A downloadable archive
This is an archive of whatever I could find about a game called Jesse Slides Down Jesse’s Face (JSDJF). It might have gone by other names...I honestly can’t remember. What I do remember is the gameplay: you literally slide down your own face.
First you upload a photo of your face. That photo becomes the entire level, and also the face of your player character. Then you pick a “terrain” (or face shape, technically) for difficulty. After that, you just…slide. Using all kinds of button inputs and combinations to move yourself around your own face and rack up points. It felt like skiing, pinball, and that game where you try to eat chips off your face—all mashed together.
I only remembered this game because I recently found the control cheat sheet I wrote as a kid, along with a surviving page from the game manual. The full manual supposedly contained many other cool techniques that I have yet to master. If you remember this game too, or somehow still own a copy, please get in touch.
Oh, and I’m pretty sure the game box had a slogan on it:
Your face is the world, and the world is your slide!
